The origin of the MISC’s performance brand, Mirai, can be traced back to 2833 when then-CEO Kori Desmon wanted to explore expanding the company’s portfolio beyond the industrial craft they were well known for. Enter the Daedalus, a racing ship designed from the wheels up to win the Murray Cup. While the Daedalus competed, the dream of victory never came to fruition. Still, that ship planted the seed that MISC’s dedication to refined and focused designs could be used to take the manufacturer in bold and unexpected directions.

Fast forward to 2910 and MISC’s groundbreaking lead-lease agreement with the Xi’an Empire. Granted access to new Xi’an technologies, MISC design teams began pushing the boundaries of their designs, leading to exciting new ships like the transformative Reliant line-up and the lightning-fast Razor. With the success of the Razor, MISC decided to branch off their experimental design team into its own division where the project engineers would be free to focus entirely on pushing the limits of what MISC is capable of. Enter Mirai and its introductory vessel, the first ever fighter crafted by the company, the Fury.

Concept

Our goal was to design a chair that combines the highest quality, ergonomic design and a comfortable seating experience, especially for long flight missions. At the same time, it should harmonize perfectly with different flight control setups.

In addition, the chair has a central cutout in the seat, which allows a center joystick to be mounted in an optimal position.

Design

The most important part of the design is the shape of the backrest:

The wider lower part provides the pilot with stability, while the narrower upper part allows unrestricted freedom of movement in the shoulder and elbow area.

This means the seat offers maximum freedom of movement for smooth operation of the joystick and throttle without any restrictions.

All logos are embroidered in great detail and reflect the ambient light in an elegant way.

The seat cover is made out of a new breathable and water-vapor-permeable synthetic leather from Continental in our home town Hannover. The hybrid material made of vinyl and polyurethane uses the best properties of both and provides surface softness and durability.
