Flight Chair – MFC-1 Blackbird

The MFC-1 Blackbird is the first office chair developed especially for flight. Breathable hybrid synthetic leather made out of vinyl and polyurethane covers the chair.

Selection:
Unbraked: Standard – for use without flight pedals.
Caster and Rotation Brake: The chair can be set in a fixed position for optimal pedal use.
Haptic System: 14 actuators with haptic feedback in the seat and backrest.

Concept

Our goal was to design a chair that combines the highest quality, ergonomic design and a comfortable seating experience, especially for long flight missions. At the same time, it should harmonize perfectly with different flight control setups.

In addition, the chair has a central cutout in the seat, which allows a center joystick to be mounted in an optimal position.

Design

The most important part of the design is the shape of the backrest:

The wider lower part provides the pilot with stability, while the narrower upper part allows unrestricted freedom of movement in the shoulder and elbow area.

This means the seat offers maximum freedom of movement for smooth operation of the joystick and throttle without any restrictions.

Cover

The seat cover is made out of a new breathable and water-vapor-permeable synthetic leather from Continental in our home town Hannover. The hybrid material made of vinyl and polyurethane uses the best properties of both and provides surface softness and durability.

Manufacture

A local North German manufacturer makes our chairs. It is a company known for producing high-quality office chairs since 1966. Each chair is made by hand.

The MFC-1 chair is made on order and has a delivery time of approx. 1-5 weeks.

Joystick / HOTAS chair mounts left / right joystick or throttle are not in the scope of delivery. They are only in the product images to illustrate the complete structure.

      No, this product contains only the pilot seat. All attachment points on the bottom of the seat are available.
